Shipping and Receiving Handler

Our client in the Des Moines area is looking for Shipping & Receiving Handlers to join their team. This is a full time position, temp to direct hire after 90 days.

Schedule: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pay: $21.37 per hour

Functions:

• Working in a team to ensure timely and error-free shipments while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Read basic print facts and tape measure to ensure accuracy
• Operate overhead/jib cranes and forklifts to move, load, unload raw material, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Inspect and verify shipments through proper documentation, complete paperwork, and shipping procedures as required.
• Occasional grasping, pushing, pulling, flipping, and lifting of sheet metal (up to 100 lbs.)

Requirements:

• High school degree or GED
• Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operations
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
• Able to stand and work 8 to 12-hour shifts
• Work requires ability to perform outdoors under all weather conditions
• Prior work within a shipping environment preferred
